Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas everyone, We made a quick detour to Grandad's house. All I wanted to do was relax and enjoy the family.
Grandad wanted to plow snow,
and put up birdhouses.
Bring in firewood thru the back door, where's the deck anyway.
Finally we got to build snowmen and go sledding.
By the time we left I was half asleep.

Hope everybody has a good Christmas break and a Happy New Year
Love Jack

Cold weather has hit

I am not ready for winter it is freezing out. We made one stop down to Great Uncles Mark's office and that was enough.
I got to empty out the golf ball display, and then it was off to get warm.
The flashlight kept me busy for awhile but I really wanted to go out and play in the snow.
Grandad didn't think it was warm enough so he told me to play dominoes instead.
When Charlie accussed me of cheating I was angry, I didn't know dogs could tell the difference between eight and seven. She is smarter than I thought she was. I couldn't persuade her you can put a eight up against a seven. Still I didn't like the way she looked so hurt. I know I could have fooled Bailey with it.
Maybe Global warming will kick in again so we can go back outside. See you all next week Love Jack

PS Maybe I will dig into the secular progressive movement going on in my town next week about the cross on the Fire Station.

Plumbing

It's the week after Thanksgiving and I know I skipped last week, totally my Mom's fault. There is no other excuse. So Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone. This week I am back at Grandad's so I know it won't be a relaxing day. We spent most of the day running around doing nothing but still moving. My first assignment of the day was to put all these pieces of pipe together with no leaks.I studied these pieces for awhile and maybe Grampy could help me, but I think I need a right hand estabrook to finish the job correctly.
My next job was to install the frig. I can't believe how heavy it was.
Then Grandad told me to pace off a hundred feet, I don't know why but I did it anyways.
And finally the one picture I got out of Thanksgiving Day weekend was a walk with my Dad.
See you all next week, Go Panthers, win the Superbowl tomorrow!!

Belated Veteran's Day

Hi everyone, I am back with Grandad this week. He caught me off guard when he yelled at me for not mentioning the veterans last week.
I don't know if he was more mad at me or Grammie. But, I guess he wasn't impressed with the rocks we visited. So anyway I found a picture of my Dad's cousin David. So here's to the veteran's I forgot to mention last week.Pretty impressive outfit there David, we could have used you to watch for Al Kida in Grandad's front yard. With that uniform on nobody would have ventured into his yard, Al, Steve, or Fred

When we finished my tribute to the veterans, Grandad took me to Indian Rock with Great Aunt Susan. Once again all I remember is whining " isn't this too far into the woods?". Grandad was getting mad but he kept on going farther and farther into the woods.
When we finally got there it wasn't much to look at, but I could hear the heart beat.

I tried to measure for the kithchen at Grandad's but he took my tape away.
The afternoon was beatiful so me and Great Papa picked up the rest of the acorns. Now I know why Grandad is so intense, "pay attention to what your doing Jack, turn the wheel, you missed these ones," I was waiting for him tell me to take off my glasses.

See you all next week

A day in Braggville

Its a new Friday and to my surprise Grammie showed up at the door to take me today. The week got a little hairy when Grandad sent me a text about guns and I didn't know where I was going. What a relief when I saw Grammie

We went for a long walk and ended up at Kampersal field, sadly the fresh air had knocked me out and I missed it.
Then we moved on to Balancing Rock, I climbed to the top when Grammie wasn't watching and jumped off.
Grammie didn't think that was so funny, and made me pose like a good little boy.
Grammie started to explain about glacial erratics and pink granite from the Milford quarries.
I am like blah blah blah, she can really drone on and on

All right, enough is enough lets get out of here.
See you all next week, Love Jack

Hunting

Hi everyone, it was pretty cold this morning. Grandad thought it would be a good idea to do something fun today. So since bow season just opened up this week, that's what we did.

First we tracked them to their hiding spots.
We found the rubs and scraps,
The buck doing these scraps, is small, I want to find his Daddy.
We kept looking all morning long.
The morning ended with no sightings. Partly because Great Aunt Susan was too loud in the woods, EEEH, OOOH that hurts was all I could hear from my deer stand.
After lunch I had a nap with the puppies. My appetite was not the same today, every pile of deer poop we saw Grandad told it was raisinettes.

See ya Love Jack

Halloween 2009

Hi everyone, had a busy day with Grandad today, first we went to check on the framers. I don't know why I had to walk on the beam, maybe because my feet are the smallest.

The good thing was I got to drive Grandad's truck around the site today by myself. Then Grammie thought it would be a good idea to see if my costume fits, Grandad thinks I look ridiculous. He couldn't stop laughing at me Grandad made me pick up acorns all afternoon, he didn't say so but I think it is because of my costume. I filled my bucket up six times.
Great uncle mark uploaded my costume pic for me, now I see what Grandad thought was so funny.

Happy Halloween everyone see you next week.
Love Jack
Update; The wait is over I can walk now!!!

The Endorsement

Grandad was busy this morning so he told me to find something to keep me occupied for a while. So I logged on to start blogging, but we hadn’t done anything yet, so I was stumped for an idea. He suggested politics from the other room. Oh there’s a surprise, I said I would endorse a candidate for Governor this week anyway. So I started my research. Grandad walked by the computer when I had Deval’s picture on the screen. Where are my earmuffs?
Well for the past year I have been listening to him rant and rave about politics. And let me tell you, You have to listen, or he will grab your chin and “ask are you listening to me”? So yes I do pay attention to what he has to say, and like my Aunt and my Father, sometimes I think he’s a bit crazy. But every now and again he makes sense.
With that said, I am going to endorse Charlie Baker for Governor of Massachusetts.
Now I can hear all my blog watchers thinking we have to get that kid away from his Grandad. But this was my idea and here is why I chose him over the other candidates. Baseball fields. If you had noticed on my blog there is a little box that countdowns the days till I pitch my first game. So, the condition of the baseball fields is an important thing to me, or so Grandad tells me.
The reason Charlie Baker is going to make baseball fields better is right in the next town over from me, in Hopkinton. One of Grandad’s many stories is about Mr. Egan who recently passed away. He started a company called EMC, which is a private company that employs a lot of people. One phrase Grandad will always say is capitalism is the reason you can have liberal social programs succeed. Mr. Egan was a capitalist, and a good one at that.
So in that town, because of Mr. Egan, the plumbers, electricians, carpenters, small businesses and real estate brokers are all busy and prospered. People, who are busy and prosperous, donate to local causes, such as the baseball fields, and other local causes.
I believe Mr. Baker will do more for the private businesses than the current Governor and the other candidates. They all seem to be anti business and pro big government.
So vote for Charlie Baker and maybe, I will win a Cy Young.
Grandad was so impressed by my blog this week he is taking me to meet Mr. Baker right now.

Wow, he is much nicer than his younger brother Jonathan, and a lot taller. Grandad made me write that part. see you all later.

After we met Mr. Baker we went to backfill the foundation, I took the opportunity to attach my new bumper stickers to the equipment
Check out Charlies website
See you all next week next week.
