Golfing

It's a new Friday, crappy weather, nothing to do. Grandad's bored out of his tree, I suggested we walk up to the "Post". Maybe walking was a bad idea, it's cold and raw out and my fingers are numb. But it did just the trick, Grandad's smile came back with a pumkin muffin and coffee, and my mood got better after my #2 on wheat with just a hint of mayo and extra cranberry sauce.

On the way back home, we stopped in and got a couple buckets of balls. We loaded up the golf cart and headed for the range. Everything was looking good, a little wedge practice, some golf cart driving practice. Maybe take a ride around the course.

But then I figured out that I was the target.
Grandad drove right by the tee box, out to the 100 yard flag and dropped me off. "watch the spin I can get on these" was the last thing I heard as he drove away. I am definitely going to need the motorcycle helmet if we do this again.
All is well now, after a good nap, I don't think anyone can tell I was the target. Next week I hit the balls and he sits by the flag. Love Jack

PS; The welt on my forehead is not from golf, or so Grandad says, I just woke up like this.

Veterans Day

This is a picture of my Great Great Grand Uncle Len Ryerson, he died in 1942 in France. With him in the picture is Winston Churchill. Len is the tall one by the door. The picture below is of the monument in front of the town hall. And the picture below that is on the corner of Johnson Drive and Washington Street, where he used to live. The other picture is my Dad's Papa,my Dad, Grammie, and me, he served in Korea as a Navy pilot on aircraft carriers.

Here is some quotes from them.

"Watch out for alligators in Lake Winthrop!!"

-Len Ryerson

"Hey Jack, you want to hear a #$%&$$ story?"

- My Dads Papa

Did I ever tell you about the #$%??@'s I fought against.

- My Dads Papa

“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”

-Winston Churchill

"Some regard private enterprise as if it were a predatory tiger to be shot. Others look upon it as a cow that they can milk. Only a handful see it for what it really is - the strong horse that pulls the whole cart."

- Winston Churchill

"You don't make the poor richer by making the rich poorer."

- Winston Churchill

"If you go out in the woods today,
You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely out in the woods today,
But safer to stay at home."

-Grammie

"Pipe down"

-Dad

"Maybe the quote idea wasn't a good one,"

-Jack

Happy Memorial day everyone, and thanks to all the vets. !!!!!

And send me other pictures of the vets I know,

Heading home

First of all, sorry to the VP, I was joking around. Everyone is so sensitive, don't worry Grandad my new password is undecipherable, even the VP won't get in next time. I know you are probably upset over the color font he chose. It is time to head home. With my secret vacation location revealed, I guess I will drive home instead of the shipping crate. This may not be a good idea, I heard my Dad rolled down the street playing around like this, and took my Aunt Ashley along for the ride. And Mr Vice President, I haven't talked to Grandad yet, but I don't think he is going to like you calling me a little punk. Maybe he will, but I doubt it.
Love Jack
