Sorry for the delay in blogging. My summer started right away at a swift pace. We went places that had no internet access, plus we were busy non stop. So I will try to recap our summer to get you all caught up on the latest.
First, everything started out as it did last summer, Me and Ryan just goofing around.
Me learning to ride my new bike.
I even went to a tractor pull, don't ask what they did there, because even my Dad and Grandad didn't quite understand it.
Ryan seemed to enjoy the quiet time at home, despite the "puss" he has on his face in this pic.
Or even this one, he really is a funny little brother with a good sense of humor.
You can tell here in his self portrait how funny he is.
Then we loaded up the car and we were off. Three hours later we arrived at Storyland. We had a blast.
We milked cows.
Rode twisty turny water rides.
Scary, dangerous roller coasters.
Do I look afraid?
Then we headed for the Vermont/Canadian border.
We fished and boated, don't tell Homeland Security, we twice went over the border line. By mistake of course.
I tried to leave Ryan on the other side of the border, but Mom and Dad said no.
Once he heard of my plan he stayed on shore just to be safe.
We went to see a waterfall.
And rivers winding through the woods.
This was our last breakfast in the north country. Don't we look happy? I hope that isn't Obama on the TV in the background or Grandad will go nuts.
Next destination sunny Cape Cod. Nothing better to soothe the weary traveler, a little sunbathing.
Or maybe a nap on the beach.
On the way home we stopped to see Grandad, and he made Ryan and I cut the lawn before we could sit and say hi.
Finally, time to relax and the summer is almost over.
And then the bombshell dropped.
Mom and Dad told Grammie and Grandad that they would be having another Grandchild.
My mind, started to do the calculation as fast as I could.
Grandad has been helping me with math for the past year or so, and he tries to make it fun for me to learn about fractions, decimals, and other things. He loses me when he talks about Pi, Sine, Cosine and Tangents, but for the most part it's fun. So I know when I was the only child all Mom's and Dad's attention went to me. Ryan comes along and I am batting .500 now.
So with a little sister coming it's all adding up to 1/3 the time I used to get. Maybe that's not so bad.
Everybody seemed happy at the news so I guess I am too.
Three hundred hitters make the hall of fame you know.
So let me be the first to introduce you to my new little sister, Wilma.
Love Jack
PS Hopefully the next post will be soon, but who knows. By the way, Wilma was Grandad's idea, he said with a name like Wilma nobody will pay attention to her.
