Day with the Girls

Hi everyone, we stripped the forms this morning in the rain, and then had a lazy day at Grandad's with the dogs.

I don't understand these two dogs, they think my food is theirs.
Once I told them who the boss is, all was well.
Now that everyone has a full tummy we can all take a nap.
See you all next week hopefully, it will be busier than this week, I am bored. I may venture into the Gubernatorial race next week. Hope you all come back to see who I endorse.

Blasting

Sorry for the late blog post, but I was busy all day. First we had to blast the ledge.
Then we had to dig it all out. Hope the dynamite all went off. Grandad didn't seem too concerned. He sent me right in after the blast.
The digging is a little rough with all the big equipment around, but I did OK. I am still worried about the left over dynamite.
I am starting to get the hang of it , I hope I don't go to deep.
I had this area all done when Grandad got back with the coffee.
Now all I have to do is hide this ledge so Domey doesn't see it. I am beat by the end of the day see you all next week.

Soot

We finished up the trees today. Not too many left.

The big backhoe arrived and we started on the stumps.

We quit early to go home for lunch. Grandads house was freezing, so he told me I could make a fire to warm up.
I tried to put the duck in for kindling, but Grandad didn't think it would burn.
The soot goes everywhere, can't we just turn the heat on.
There is nothing like having your lunch on a cool fall day by the fireplace.
See you next week, I will probably be someplace else when Mom sees the soot all over me.

Stand by me

Good afternoon, I had a busy day today, not alot of time to blog. We had to cut trees today.
First cut them and then stack them.
When Grandad wasn't watching I went down to the railroad tracks to watch the trains go by.
I saw an Indian on one of the western movies hold his ear to the tracks to tell when the train was coming. Hope it works!!!
When Grandad finally found me, he said if I wanted to be the fat kid in "Stand By Me" to do it on my parents watch.
When the trees were all cut we had a late breakfast lunch at the Eastside. My pancakes were great.
The waitress's were very nice even though Grandad says he's afraid of the one sitting across from me.
See ya Jack.

Birthday party

Today is my birthday!!. I finally made it to one, what a quick year. Grandad picked me up this morning and found out from Mom there was no party planned. So he told me not to worry he would have one for me. We stopped at the outpost for supplies. Grandad thought it would be a good idea to document my height and weight for my first birthday. 20.88 lbs and 29.5 inches.

I would have preferred some kids my age, but Grandad didn't know any. So all the angry old republicans Grandad new were invited.
This is Mr. Gandini, Grandad and him spout the same rhetoric. Then there was Mr Denman, he wanted to talk about Bob Feller's
ERA and innings pitched.
Then Mr. Muzzy and the town workers showed up on their break.
The Abramo brothers showed up a little later.
Mr Rossini, Mr Kurzontkowski, and Mr Glines all showed up together, with the strippers. Mr Rossini assured Grandad that it was the Abramo brother's who brought them, either way Grandad wasn't happy.
The party seem to take a turn, for better or worse, I don't know, when Mr Haberski showed up. Between him and Mr Kurzontkowski, I don't know who has the most foul mouth.

All in all pretty good first birthday party, not typical, but good. I think I may be an angry republican someday.

Workday

Third week at Grandads in a row. He let me know right away this was a work day.
First we went next door and looked at rotten window sills with Chuckie. Every other word out of his mouth is foul. I needed my ear muffs for this job.
Then we went down to visit Dad, he let me drive the lull.
After that I had lunch with " the men"
When we got back, it was raining so Grandad made me clean his garage with the backhoe Aunt Lorraine dropped off.
After a quick nap it was right back to work. My machine had all it could do to move the big mushrooms in the front yard.

And finally all day long Grandad kept yakking about all the liberals have forgotten about 9/11, he made me promise to tell everyone to never forget. He said it could have been me up in a plane minding my own business, and some wack job from the middle east pulls a stunt like that.
Sorry Grandad was breathing down my neck as I write

PS. A little disappointed in all you lurkers. I had a dozen tee shirts made and nobody has a guess. Come on

A day at the lake

Two weeks in a row with Grandad, oh boy, what will he make me do today?

First I practice my lessons from last week.
Then a quick cut of the lawn, and I get to relax the rest of the day.

I suggested the beach. It was a perfect day at Lake Throwup with no one around. Grandad sat in the car and smoked cigars. If I got too close to the edge of the water he would scream nasty things to me. I got my new shoes wet when he wasn't looking. When I got up to my knees, he finally came to get me, and took me back to the playground.

All in all a pretty relaxing day to start off the long weekend.
Hope everyone has a good weekend see you all next week. Bummer about the end of summer.
